Dr Emami’s research program is dedicated to multidisciplinary, practice-relevant research, with the ultimate goal of decreasing the burden of poor oral health in general population. In particular, her research activities focus on the following 3 themes:

• Intervention: The effectiveness of prosthodontic treatment modalities in edentate individuals
• Impact: The impact of oral health on general health
• Access: Social inequalities in oral health care access, with particular emphasis on rural populations

Beyond her research program, Dr Emami is collaborating in several other related research activities. Specifically, she contributes to protocol development, data analysis, knowledge transfer and dissemination activities including systematic reviews and meta-analysis along with a team of national and international scientists.
